CIRSIUM: a handmade glass petal wall light

CIRSIUM draws its form from the thistle — that dense, organic sphere that radiates in every direction. Translated into a wall light, its glass petals open around a single luminous centre, casting a living lacework of shadows and reflections on the wall that shifts with every variation of light.

Each piece is made by hand in the workshop: glass petals are fixed one by one onto the nickel-plated metal frame. The slight irregularity of the glass burrs — a mark of handcrafted work — is what makes each CIRSIUM sparkle differently from the next. This is not a flaw; it is the signature of the human gesture.

Three glass treatments, three distinct atmospheres

CIRSIUM is available in three glass finishes, each transforming the atmosphere the light creates. The WB finish (transparent glass with burrs) amplifies the play of light: each petal reflects and diffracts the source in every direction, producing a vivid, lively shimmer. The WM finish (matte glass) softens the output — light diffuses more evenly for a quieter, more intimate mood. The WT finish (glass crystals) uses a different material altogether: thicker, more faceted than the petals, the crystals interact with light in a more dramatic way, with pronounced refraction effects.

Note: WB and WM share the same dimensions. The WT finish, due to the nature of the crystals, has a slightly more compact profile at sizes T1, T2 and T3.

Materials & handcrafted manufacturing

Every CIRSIUM is assembled by hand. Glass petals or crystals are fixed individually onto the nickel-plated metal frame. The process demands patience and precision — it is the density and regularity of the work that determines the quality of the final shimmer. The slight burrs on the edges of the glass, a mark of handcrafted production, are part of what makes each piece unique and contribute to the richness of its light effects.
