Chrysa – Suspension

A handmade glass bead pendant light shaped like a jellyfish

Chrysa is a glass bead pendant light made entirely by hand. Its form takes its cue from the jellyfish: a dense upper dome from which rows of glass beads and pearls hang freely downward. The internal metal structure disappears beneath the glass; only the material is visible.

When lit, Chrysa diffuses a soft light through the mass of glass — the beads and pearls refract and scatter the light source into a shifting play of reflections that changes with viewing angle and installation height. When unlit, the piece holds its presence through volume and texture alone: sculptural, organic, suspended.

T1, T2, T3 — three sizes, one presence

Chrysa is available in three sizes that follow a regular progression in diameter, height and weight.

Chrysa T1 (Ø 24 cm · H 65 cm · 6 kg) is the accent format. It suits intimate settings — a table for two, a corner of a living room, a hotel bedroom — where the pendant marks the spot without dominating the volume. One G9 source.

Chrysa T2 (Ø 30 cm · H 80 cm · 9 kg) is the principal format. Its presence is assured without being overpowering. It works above a dining table, in a wide corridor, or as a focal point in a reception or lounge space. One G9 source.

Chrysa T3 (Ø 36 cm · H 95 cm · 10 kg) is the architectural format. With a total height approaching one metre, it is designed for double-height spaces, hotel lobbies and restaurants where the pendant must occupy vertical volume as much as horizontal space. One G9 source.

Glass beads and pearls — two materials, one light

Chrysa combines two types of glass with distinct optical qualities: glass beads, spherical and reflective, that capture and return light as precise points; and glass pearls, slightly translucent, that diffuse it more gently. It is the alternation and density of these two materials that give Chrysa its particular luminous depth — neither a spotlight nor a simple diffusion, but something between the two.
