A wall sconce from the Albâtre collection, AGUANE is shaped from a hand-selected block of natural alabaster. The stone — translucent, crossed by veins unique to each block — transforms the light into a soft, warm, amber glow. It is not the light that defines the atmosphere: it is the stone that filters it, tints it, makes it tangible.

Placed at eye level along a corridor, beside a bed, or flanking a mirror in a bathroom, AGUANE creates a luminous presence that is discreet but immediately felt. A light that seems to come from the material itself.

Alabaster — a material made of light

Alabaster is one of the few natural materials that genuinely transforms light rather than simply projecting or reflecting it. Its characteristic translucency — inherent to the calcite from which it is formed — creates an organic halo with no hard edges, whose warmth and intensity vary with the thickness of the stone and the veins running through it.

Every alabaster block is different. The cream, golden or lightly ochre tones, the lines of veining, the areas of greater or lesser translucency — these variations are not flaws: they are the material. Each AGUANE is a singular interpretation of the same artisanal gesture, shaped by a stone that belongs only to nature.

Materials & handcrafted manufacturing

The diffuser of AGUANE is hand-cut from a block of natural alabaster, then adjusted and polished to achieve the optimal thickness for light diffusion. The frame is crafted in worked metal in our workshops. Each piece is individually assembled and checked before shipping.
